Born in sunny California and raised by my loving Japanese parents, I grew up learning the beauty of two cultures. My childhood hours were spent drawing or gazing at Japanese and English picture books. The light and bold colors used by Eric Carle, the textures and shapes used in Leo Lionni's illustration, and Maurice Sendak's artistic approaches inspired me as a child to become a Children's Book Illustrator.
After a few years in Web Design in Japan, I am currently residing in New York City as a freelance Web/Graphic designer and Illustrator. Lately, I have been illustrating for cards, postcards, and business cards, and hoping to deliver creative and unique illustrations for Children's Books some day. |
