Born 1988 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She studied Fine arts/Illustration in Altos de Chavón The School of Design until 2007, then she went to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she started to take multiple courses of Textiles, Art History, and Woodcarving, elements that she always applies to her work.
Tomya's work have been part of exhibitions and art fairs including The international triennial of mini-textile in Helsinki, and the most recent group exhibition called “Naniki” that is held across different art galleries through Argentina as Palermo H art Gallery, and 4 gatos Espacio de Arte.
Her work is a mixture of woodcuts techniques, paint and illustration. It claims the paradox perception between lucid dreams and the reality in a multicultural environment where traditions and belief are essential to conclusions. |
